From 12 to 14 March BLICKFANG Design Fair presents young furniture, jewellery and fashion designers from all over Europe in the Liederhalle, Stuttgart. Many new and unusual design ideas and innovations are expected as around half of the exhibitors will showcase for the first time.
With record numbers of visitors for the fourth time in a row and some 20,000 visitors last year, BLICKFANG is the largest design event in the German-speaking countries. It provides the curious and design enthusiasts with a compact overview of the current design scene. It serves as a valuable contact forum and is both a fascinating, lively trend show and an inspiring shopping mile. BLICKFANG, with its exhibitors and their designs, continues to create a contemporary focus reaching beyond global labels and vertical providers as many independent products and brands are to be found at the fair.
Design in on the move – and moves more and more people: an excellent programme, exciting competitions and new Specials at this year’s BLICKFANG Stuttgart enable end consumers and a specialist audience to experience this development first-hand. In the weeks running up to the fair, BLICKFANG Spots create a pre-design feeling. The BLICKFANG Spots take place in selected locations such as the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart (Stuttgart Art Museum) or the Design Center Stuttgart, e.g. the HUGO BOSS FASHION AWARD 2010 in cooperation with the Staatlichen Modeschule Stuttgart (State Fashion School Stuttgart). As every year, lectures by renowned speakers from the fields of design and architecture – such as Alexander Brenner, Prof. Rudolf Schricker (President BDIA (Union of German Interior Designers/Architects)) and Tobias Walliser (LAVA Laboratory for Visionary Architecture) – provide new impulses, food for thought and discussion.
As in past years, BLICKFANG Stuttgart marks the beginning, followed by the BLICKFANG Première in Basel, and then, in autumn, the international BLICKFANG events in Vienna and Zurich.
