„These objects originate from the colour and form experiences which I had as a child –I also wanted to create objects which can be used for storage, and which create a relaxing mood in a modern living environment or even in a green office thanks to their organic and close-to-nature shapes.“ - Éva Urbánfy.
Every one of these handmade containers is unique. What they have in common is that they are all round in shape. They vary from small shallow bowls, to tall containers which are suitable for storing heavier objects and there are box-like versions which have a lid. Every buyer can decide what they store in these containers. You can keep toys in your container, or scarves and hats in the hallway. You can also put the container in your wardrobe, or in an office to store small items.
The containers are made from felt manufactured by the Kőszeg Felt Factory in the most diverse range of natural raw and grey materials. The dyed versions are made using a unique and environment-friendly way, partially using natural dyes. The shape of each container is created via the sewing, which is done using polyester thread. The containers can be cleaned very easily by handwashing at max. 30 degrees."
These objects have participated in a number of Hungarian and international exhibitions since October 2006, and in the summer of 2009 they won the Design category award of the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists at the Textile Triennal of Szombathely.
„Meine Objekte haben ihren Ursprung in Farben und Formen, die ich in meiner Kindheit wahrgenommen habe. Ich wollte Objekte entwerfen, die man zur Lagerung verwenden kann und trotzdem eine gemütliche Atmosphäre schaffen. Wichtig war mir organische und naturgetreue Formen zu kreieren, die in moderne Wohnungen und Büros passen.“ - Éva Urbánfy.
Jeder einzelne dieser handgemachten Container ist einzigartig. Gemeinsam haben sie die runde Form. Von kleinen hohlen Schalen bis hin zu grossen Containern eignen sie sich z.B. auch zur Lagerung von schwereren Elementen. Zum Sortiment gehören auch Boxen mit Deckel angeboten. Ob Spielzeuge, Schals, Hüte im Wohnzimmer oder Flur - der Käufer kann selbst entscheiden, was in den Objekten gelagert wird.
Die Container werden in verschiedenen Filz-Varianten in der Köszeg Felt Factory hergestellt. Farbige Exemplare werden auf eine natürliche, umweltschonende Weise behandelt. Die Form ergibt sich aus der Art und Weise wie die Container zusammengenäht werden. Die Objekte sind per Hand zu waschen.
Seit Oktober 2006 wurden die Filzobjekte von Éva Urbánfy auf einer Vielzahl von ungarischen und internationalen Ausstellungen gezeigt. Im Sommer 2009 hat Éva Urbánfy den Design-Preis der Association of Hungarian Creative Artists auf der Textile Triennal of Szombathely gewonnen.
